Alex is an eye surgeon who aims to give patients access to the highest quality eye care available. He uses the most modern, proven treatments and up-to-date surgical techniques.

Principles of practice:

Alex wants to help patients achieve the best sight possible. He uses the latest equipment available for diagnosis and treatment. Alex believes in clear communication to help patients understand their eye condition and to choose the best option for their eyes.

Academic positions:

As a specialist eye surgeon at Sydney Eye Hospital, Alex trains Australian and international eye surgeons. He has a number of private practices across Sydney. Alex is a clinical lecturer at The University of Sydney.

Qualifications:

Alex is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (R.A.N.Z.C.O.). He completed his ophthalmology (eye surgery) training in Sydney. He then undertook two years of extra subspecialty training at the two largest eye hospitals in the United Kingdom.

At Manchester Royal Eye Hospital he completed a Corneal and Refractive Surgery Fellowship. He then completed a Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

Alex has performed eye surgery on thousands of patients.  He regularly performs cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, laser eye surgery and all types of corneal transplantation.

Alex is committed to improving the quality of eye health in Australia and internationally. He holds a Master of Public Health and worked internationally at the World Health Organisation in Geneva. Alex was previously a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in London.

Alex speaks French and Spanish fluently.
